KALÀSCIMA (EN)

Psychedelic Trance Tarantella, is Kalascima’s new album – the band’s passion, restless agitation and experiences are captured beautifully in the image on the front of the CD. An electronic drum kit is linked directly to an amp; which emphasizes, mixes and distorts the traditional sound.

Riccardo Lagana, the founder of the group, wanted to break the mould of traditional folk music from Salento. Kalascima achieved this through the distorting prism of psychedelic trance.
Travelling the world, from Australia to Latin America through Europe and the Middle East, he met artists from all over and began interesting collaborations with several of them.

Riccardo Lagana has played percussion with Ludovico Einaudi for many years, and on Psychedelic Trance Tarantella the famous pianist-composer collaborated with him again, playing the piano on the track ‘Due mari’ (Two Seas).
